Sharpe was a genuine firearms expert and wildcatter who wrote many fine and informative books and articles from the 1930s into the early 1950s. WebbP.S. Phil Sharpe has some loads listed (in the pic link) for DuPont 17 1/2. DuPont replaced 17 1/2 with 3031, which also is in my loading log under 30-30 cast loads so if you find some data on it, that would be another viable choice as its still in production the last I checked.
